Program Approaches

The program approaches of Banteay Srei incorporate five elements in the development and implementation of all our work. We believe that the combination of these approaches reinforces ownership of women and leads to sustainable and positive impacts for women, families, and their communities.

Banteay Srei works through CBOs to increase the communities’ knowledge and understanding of their rights and role of duty bearers focusing on raising the level of accountability in the development process among rights‐holders and duty‐bearers. Banteay Srei works to build communities’ capacity and confidence to advocate for their rights. Understanding the rights is central to the empowerment of vulnerable people, with particular attention to discrimination, equality, and equity while assisting communities to analyze and challenge existing harmful power imbalances.
